Allergic Reactions
An allergic reaction may be the result of vaccinations, medications, new objects in the household (new carpet or a new dog bed), insect bites, or new foods.
Mild Reaction Signs
- Intensive itching and redness of skin
- Swelling (especially around the muzzle, ears and eyes)
- Hives
- Vomiting and/or diarrhea
First Aid: Seek veterinary attention immediately.
Severe Reaction Signs (Anaphylactic Shock)
These signs can appear seconds to one to two hours after exposure.
- Pale gums
- Fainting or collapse
- Difficulty breathing
- Repeated vomiting and/or diarrhea
First Aid: Seek veterinary attention immediately.
