Dr. Ayman Wassef was born and raised in Cairo, Egypt. He received his veterinary degree from the College of Veterinary Medicine, Cairo University 1998. He finished the Educational Commission of Foreign Veterinary Graduates (ECFVG) Certification at Oklahoma State University, College of Veterinary Medicine, 2003. Dr. Wassef has completed a Medical/Surgical internship at a referral practice in Phoenix and then worked in the field of small animal emergency and critical care since. Dr. Wassef finished a residency in Emergency and Critical Care at the Fresno Veterinary Specialty and Emergency Center in Fresno California in July 2017 and became eligible to become a specialist in Small Animal Emergency and Critical Care. Dr. Wassef acquired the Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Center of Northern Arizona in May 2017. His professional interests are in Critical Care, internal medicine, Emergency surgeries and Cardiorespiratory emergencies. Dr. Wassef also enjoys teaching and has lectured at different Specialty Hospitals.

Dr. Wassef is affiliated with American Veterinary Medical Association, American College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care, American Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society, American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine, Arizona Veterinary Medical Association and California Veterinary Medical Association. Dr. Wassef has a German shepherd dog, Maddie. In his free time, Dr. Wassef spends time with his German shepherd and travelling.

Hello, my name is Breanna Muncy. I am the hospital manager here at Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Center of Northern Arizona. I was born in Massachusetts but raised in Upstate New. I moved out to Arizona in 2006 to help take care of family and have loved it out here since. I moved to Flagstaff in the summer of 2022 and have genuinely fell in love with the area, it reminds me of upstate New York. I have a 9-year-old daughter, Sophia and I love being a mom. I have one pet, Maddie who is a prue bred German Shephard. She loves to go on walks/hikes and loves to train. When I am not busy with hospital you can find me spending time with my family or swimming.

I have been fortunate enough to have been exposed to many different fields throughout my professional career but have come to love the emergency medicine field. I joined the Veterinary Emergency & Specialty family in the summer of 2022 and have loved being a part of the team. I enjoy seeing the multitude of cases that walk through our doors and challenges that each brings can’t wait too see what the future holds.

I was born and raised on the Navajo Reservation and decided to move to Flagstaff after undergrad to pursue my passion in veterinary medicine closer to home.

The importance of animal health and husbandry for livestock in my native traditions are what opened the doors to veterinary medicine. I pride myself in exposing myself to the many avenues within the vet field (Rescue, Rehabilitation, General Practice, Laboratory, Emergency/Critical Care, etc.). Each year make I it a goal to try a new hobby. So far, my most consistent hobbies are hiking, camping, biking, painting, horseback riding and my ultimate favorite pastime is roping. This year climbing is my newest addition.

Currently I am expecting my first baby and in five years I hope to have a small farm with my wonderful husband and children. While still growing my knowledge in Veterinary Emergency/Critical Care…I absolutely love it.

I moved to Flagstaff to be able to attend NAU to pursue a degree in Biology. I chose to work in veterinary medicine because I wanted to give a voice to those who don’t have one. I also have always found veterinary emergency medicine very interesting in not only how quickly you have to work but as well as the different types of protocols or treatments that we have to do to be able to figure out what is going on without being told exactly what the patient is feeling or what could have happened. I enjoy being outside on hikes, spending quality time with my dogs (Blue and Wade) and boyfriend and taking the time to expand my knowledge in veterinary medicine so that I can provide better care for any pet that walks in the door. I have no exact plan for the next five years but I can guarantee that wherever I am I will probably be working at an emergency vet.

I was born and raised in Flagstaff. The Veterinary field has always called me. It has been my dream to become a Veterinarian since I was little. I realized a long time ago that a pet to many people isn’t just a pet and an animal isn’t just an animal, the pet could be someone’s whole world or a child’s best friend, the animal could be a tool that someone depends on for their way of life. I like to think that Veterinary medicine isn’t just about helping the animal but also helping the entire family. I am currently a student at NAU, from there I plan on applying to vet school. I enjoy shed hunting, mudding, being outdoors, horseback riding, and much more! Currently I have five dogs, four horses and two birds. My dogs’ names are Tauriel, Fenris, Rex, Dixie, and Swiffer. My horses are Aspen, Misty, Baby Girl, and Little one. And finally, my birds are R2 and Umby. In 5 years, I plan to be at least half way through vet school. And still enjoying every bit that goes into Veterinary Medicine!

My name is Ariel. Flagstaff will always be a special place for me since I was born and raised here in this little town. I chose the veterinary field because I have always found it interesting, exciting and very rewarding. I have always had a love for all animals since I was young and it grew from there. My hobbies include exploring in my vehicle and going hiking with my dog Brooke. I have 6 pets, a 1-year-old German Shephard mix named Brooke, a 10-year-old cat named Joel, a beta fish named Sully, a bearded dragon named Lizard, a leopard gecko named Pip and a crested gecko named Chai. Hopefully in 5 years I will have experienced multiple different areas of veterinary medicine to help prepare for further schooling in the field.

I’m originally from Tucson and I moved up to Flagstaff to get an engineering degree at NAU! I began working in the veterinary field in high school because at the time I wanted to become a veterinarian, but now I do it because I love working with the animals. I unfortunately don’t have any pets but I love seeing my family’s pets when I go down to visit.

My name is Kyli! I am currently attending Northern Arizona University and majoring in biology. I started out volunteering at an animal rescue and saw all of the animals that needed medical attention and a good home to go to. From then on, I knew I wanted to work in the veterinary field. I recently rescued my German Shepherd, Klaus! In 5 years I hope to be attending a veterinary program to achieve my DVM.
